My name is Zahra Rabbani, but you can call me Parisa or Pary.

I am 21 and currently a senior student working toward a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at University of Tehran in Tehran, Iran.

I am currently looking for a fully funded Master's or direct PhD position in machine learning or artificial intelligence.

⦿ My undergraduate thesis is titled "On the study of Potential Misuses of Novel Generative Machine Learning Models". I will be working under the supervision of Prof. Sajedi. My goal is to study the potential harms that the rapid development of new generative models such as Variational Autoencoders, Generative Adversarial Networks, and Stable Diffusion may bring to society. I would propose prevention methods whenever possible.

⦿ My interest lies in the field of artificial intelligence, especially its use for social good. I enjoy working with data to discover patterns or gain insights. Anything to do with data and machine learning excites me! I also like to build things, whether it's a user-friendly application or a ML model.

⦿ My goal is to be part of a team working on a life-changing project and use my skills to improve people's lives, especially with regard to mental health, and make the world a better place.

⦿ My hard skills include programming in Python and C++. I have extensive experience with many libraries in Python. I know data structures[A], algorithm design[A+], data mining[A+], machine learning[TBD], and deep learning[TBD]. I have an extensive background in mathematical topics related to computer science, such as linear algebra[A+] and graph theory[A+]. See my GitHub page or my transcript for more information.

⦿ My soft skills include the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Many teammates and professors have told me that I have a strong work ethic. I work on my tasks until they meet my high standards. I am hardworking, responsible, passionate, and always looking for ways to help others.

Biography

University of Tehran's iconic main entrance.

I am wrapping up my undergraduate degree in one of the best universities in my country, University of Tehran, majoring in a subject that I had always loved, Computer Science.

During my undergraduate, I received a scholarship from  Supporter Foundation of University of Tehran for outstanding performance.

NODET Young Researchers' cup

Before joining university, I was a student at NODET(National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents). There, I joined the computer team in our mechatronics lab as my elective course. Our project FMC-LIFE won first place at the RoboCup Iran Open 2017 International Competitions and was awarded at the NODET Young Researchers Competition.

Playing with fire in my high school!

I have always been fascinated by computers and technology. My father is a computer engineer and both of my sisters studied computer science as well! So I guess the love of technology runs in the family. I got my first laptop of my own at the age of 9 and used it mainly for playing games and painting.
